SONY HF-S - 1992 - US

Note: Got two of these tapes sealed but both with cases cracked. I had to open them both. One didn't make it as the cassette itself sustained a crack in its window. From both cases, I was able to make one good case, although it has one slight crack that does not look bad and it opens and closes well. I was not going to take a chance not knowing what I am sending you, especially a cassette of this quality. The cassette is still wrapped with its original wrapper as it should be.

It is said that the best Type 1, the "super ferrics" are among the best cassettes ever made, period.

They encompass the deep bass of a ferric, but with the high frequency response of a chrome, with the ability to take so much signal that NR isn't needed.

These Sony's are up there with the best.

A classic, well made, Sony shell with amazing tape inside. They don't get much better, but the price reflects this and their rarity.

Sony produced the world's first portable music player, the Walkman in 1979. This line fostered a fundamental change in music listening habits by allowing people to carry music with them and listen to music through lightweight headphones. Walkman originally referred to portable audio cassette players. The company now uses the Walkman brand to market its portable audio and video players as well as a line of former Sony Ericsson mobile phones.

Sony utilized a related brand, Discman, to refer to its CD players. It dropped this name in the late 1990s.
